2008 Highlights
- Northeast Bank introduced a Wellness Campaign for employees in February. This campaign has featured various competitions and challenges, on-site exercise classes and healthy living informational resources.
- Northeast Bank was awarded with the "Best of Show" award for small companies from the Twin Cities United Way. The 2007 campaign was the Bank's eighth consecutive "Best of Award" and the third time we have received "Best In Show". Co-Chairs were Pam Kessler and Bill Helmers.
- Northeast Bank volunteers worked with Habitat for Humanity in painting the exterior of a Northeast Minneapolis home owned by an elderly, disabled woman.
- The MBA News magazine featured an article in the May issue regarding Northeast Bank's partnerships with area schools.
- Upsize magazine featured an article in the June issue regarding Belva and Tom and their commitment to the communities Northeast Bank serves.
- Sue Sjoselius was selected as the 2008 Business Community Ambassador for the Celebrate Northeast Parade.
- Northeast Bank was listed as number 16 of the Business Journal's Top 25 Banks in the metro area, up three positions from last year.
- Mike Scholl accepted the nomination for the Vice Chair position on the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce Board.
- Northeast Bank was recognized with the 2008 Blooming Boulevard Award for its meticulously maintained Parking Lot Park at the Minneapolis office.
- Gail Mikolich was recognized as one of five Outstanding Women in Banking by Northwestern Financial Review magazine.
- Northeast Bank continues to donate over $100,000 annually to more than 75 non-profit agencies through the Walter C. Rasmussen - Northeast Bank Foundation.
- New grant recipients for 2009 are: *AccessAbility *Simpson Housing Services, Inc. *TPC Rose *SCORE
- Employees and board members continue to volunteer over 3,500 hours per year.
- Two new volunteer events were added in 2008: the Mississippi River Challenge and the Prairie Home Delights Fundraiser, an event to benefit Anoka Ramsey Community College.
- We hosted our annual free picnics at each bank location. Over 4,000 guests were served!
