Commercial Loan Officer

Location: Columbia Heights/New Brighton Office


We are seeking a commercial lending officer with 5+ years of lending experience for our Columbia Heights/New Brighton office. Top candidates would be able to utilize their business development connections to generate $4+ million in loan balances in addition to expanding relationships from an assigned portfolio from the bank. Primary responsibilities include negotiating loan terms, portfolio management, generating deposits, cross selling appropriate banking products, and providing exceptional customer service. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in a business major, financial acumen, strong communication skills, and a desire to serve our community with an independent community bank. POSITION SUMMARY: Solicit for loans, deposits, cash management, and other financial products. Originate, process and service commercial loans.


PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Contact prospects and customers for new business, including both loan and commercial deposits. Contact levels will be sufficient to ensure relationship building, and at a minimum will meet customer retention calling and prospecting objectives established by management. Independent business development drives production, but referrals from others may contribute to obtaining production objectives.

2. Interview customers and new loan applicants, gathering appropriate information for a thorough financial analysis and analyze credit worthiness.

3. Establish structure of loans within framework of loan policy and extended commercial loans up to stated lending limit. Administer credit quality of portfolio within objectives. Manage technical exceptions within acceptable parameters. Ensure that proper documentation is completed, specifically including approval requirements.

4. Working with the credit analyst team, ensure credit presentations contain sufficient, accurate information to facilitate an efficient decision making process by lending authorities. Responsible for presenting to lending authorities.

5. Monitor loans in repayment and collect loans in default. Implement and execute work out plans as directed.

6. Working more independently, entertain larger and/or more complex loan requests for approval or denial as per the loan policy of the Bank.

OTHER KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

1. Actively participate in Bank committees as assigned by management and the Board of Directors. Participate in assigned bank or department projects in a committed professional manner.

2. Read sufficient daily, weekly, monthly publications to be properly informed and able to converse about pertinent economic, governmental, and community related matters.

3. Performs a minimum number of CRA hours annually.

4. Other duties as assigned.



ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • College degree or equivalent experience, with emphasis in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
  • Previous concentrated credit training.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years commercial lending experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years Commercial Credit Administration/Credit Analysis/Loan Review

Other Skills/Characteristics

  • Able to read and interpret loan documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Windows products;
  • Team orientation and the ability to adapt in a fun, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivation, good organization skills, and excellent communication and phone skills.
  • Exceptional level of customer service
  • Required to comply with the SAFE Act, including successful initial and ongoing registration in the Registry

  • Classified asset volume and portfolio risk weighing level will be maintained within parameters

Closing Teller I - with Benefits

Location: Columbia Heights

Hours: Monday - Friday: 2:00-6:00PM & Saturdays: 8:30AM - Noon


POSITION SUMMARY: To provide quality customer service, balance cash drawer, maintain maximum security over bank money and operate computer software in a quick and efficient manner.


PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides quality customer service including greeting customers by name, smiling, and thanking every customer. Acts professionally including conversations with customers and employees in person and on the phone. Keeps confidentiality of customers within those that need to know. Work area is neat and presentable to customers. Arrives on time, keeps breaks and lunches within appropriate time frame.

2. (Teller II and Senior Tellers) Accurate in balancing vault and counting cash. Resolves balancing differences independently and assists other tellers in resolving differences. Assess workload and initiate fair completion of all deposits for customers in person, night drop, mail, coin machine etc.

3. Running cash recyclers on a daily basis. Removing cash from recyclers when they have reached their limits and adding the cash to the vault totals. Balancing the recyclers at the end of the day with totals on Jack Henry.

4. Prepares daily settlement of work. Accurate in balancing drawer and counting cash. Maintain maximum security over bank assets, ensuring cash and negotiable items are secure at all times. Stays within established drawer limits. Processes currency transaction reports, checks identification, signatures, stop payments, etc. Scrutinizes negotiable instruments with potential for fraud. Process personal and bank money orders, cash advances, VISA gift cards, savings bonds, etc. efficiently. Maintain and balance general ledger accounts in a timely manner. Investigate and correct errors.

5. Inform customers of banking products beneficial to the customer. Cross sell and/or refer to other personnel when need arises. Able to answer basic customer questions and follows up with customer to make sure they were able to have all of their questions answered.

6. Communicates effectively with supervisor, manager, and co-workers. Reads and follows through with voicemail and e-mail. Effectively uses scanners, counters, and software (especially email).


ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years cashier experience
  • Or teller experience
